Kadhalin Deepam Ondru, Kanmaniye Kaadhal Enbadhu, En Iniya Pon Nilave, Poonthalir Aada and many more Tamil cinema songs...Why I listed these songs is that I had known all these numbers right from 4 years of age and credit goes to my cousin brother, Karthik who introduced all these songs to me when I visited Coimbatore during my vacations...
I immensely loved these songs then, but I never knew that there is something called music composing till about 7 years of age though I very well knew Raaja sir's face and voice...The Ilaiyaraaja I knew at 7 years(1993) was that he was the music tune composer of Karagattakaaran and frankly, I wasn't much impressed...A.R.Rehman impressed me at that time...
At 9 years of age, I was fooling around my cousin's wardrobe when I stumbled upon an Echo recorded cassette of Payanangal Mudivathillai bearing a small image of Ilaiyaraaja...I played it...Ilaya Nila played..I was quite familiar with this song.."Vizha Kaanume Vaaname" and there was a soft roar from an unknown instrument(which is a Phaser effect) that stunned me like never before...It was like a wave of self-realization.. That I was born to listen to His music...A tornado of bliss hit me when I listened to Ilaya Nila...
And that is when I surrendered myself to this ocean called Ilaiyaraaja...
